Harvard Campus Wood Sources

All wood for bowls and pens is reclaimed from felled trees that were growing on Harvard’s campus. No trees were cut for this project. Trees regularly need to be removed from campus by the grounds crews for various reasons, including campus renovation, overgrowth, and disease or insects. We collect the logs before they are sent to the landfill to be mulched. Because only a few trees are removed from campus each year, the amount of wood available for production of these bowls and pens is extremely limited.
